Beautifulpeople.com is an ‘elite dating site for beautiful people only'. Fewer than one in eight British men and just three in 20 women who have applied to BeautifulPeople.com have been accepted as members. Members of the website rate how attractive potential members are over a 48 hour period, when applicants upload a recent photo and a short personal profile. Five out of six British applicants were rejected and have to live their lives knowing ‘they are not beautiful’.They are rated by members of the opposite sex, who have four options to describe how (un)attractive they think the applicant is- 'Yes definitely', 'Hmmm yes, OK', 'Hmmm no, not really' and 'NO definitely NOT'
This proves the cruelty of life, when someone is desperate to find his/her significant other and sees internet dating as a last resort. In all their desperateness they sign up at a decent dating site. After two days they get an e-mail saying that they are too ugly to date. However I agree with beautifulpeople.com if it comes to the appearance of a big part of the British people. I do not think that they are very health and body conscious.
